IT Support Survey: What You Want from Your IT Provider

Out of all those who replied 84% were strongly in agreement that cloud computing is becoming increasingly important to business. Almost everyone agreed that it is important to have an experienced and proactive IT support partner who can help you stay ahead of advances in technology.

IT security and disaster recovery were also a key area for concern for SMBs. However, only 52% said that they reviewed their IT security systems once or more per year, with 48% admitting to rarely or never thinking about their IT infrastructure.

Encouragingly, 60% of the businesses surveyed were aware of the importance of having a reliable disaster recovery plan and had reasonably robust plans in place or planned to review their DR plans in the near future.

Overall, our survey has shown us that in the past two to three years there has clearly been a shift in attitude as business owners have come to realise the importance of cyber security and cloud computing. Whether this is because of the rise of more UK based data centres, the demand for mobile working, a growing need to address their disaster recovery plans or the growth of cost-effective office cloud solutions from the likes of Microsoft, many businesses now understand that their future lies in the cloud.
