Office 365 Business

Why Buy A Microsoft Office Subscription?

Microsoft Office is an integral component of many organisations’ day-to-day operations, providing access to the essential programs businesses need – e.g. MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Its Cloud functionality, security features and ability to let you create documents from any device make it a popular option for a wide range of business users.

Changes to Microsoft Office

As of 13th October 2020, Microsoft Office users will have to purchase a subscription version of the program (Office 365 ProPlus) to be able to access Office 365. This is because Microsoft wants users to benefit from the latest updates and advances to the program at all times, rather than the security and usability benefits being limited to just the features that were available on the program at the time of purchase. Businesses should note that Microsoft will officially retire and remove support for Microsoft Windows 7 on 14th February 2020.

What does this mean for businesses?

If you were thinking of buying Microsoft Office out of the box for your business, you may want to think again. Instead, it would be advisable to opt for the subscription version, as this will ensure that you can continue to connect to Office 365 in 2020 and beyond.
